This is my first post gathering children’s names from Apartment Therapy Family since they changed their name and I began writing for them (search “Ohdeedoh” for older collections). In a recent post, editor Carrie McBride notes that names on the wall is one of the biggest kids’ design trends of 2012. It seems what we call our children has increasing weight, and we want to show off that choice (I too, have my children’s names above their beds). The image above is from a child’s birthday party in Brazil.
Do you proudly display your child’s name somewhere?

What stylish choices. I love checking that site just to see the names.
I love Coralie June, Clementine, Daphne, Etta, Juno, Matilda (of course), Violet & Wren for the girls and Basil, Finn, Fox, Rhys, Sawyer, & Silas for the boys.
And wow, a boy Willow.
Hah! Funny. When I first read your post title, I thought “Meta Version, that’s a very unusual name…!”
*sigh* I miss reading Ohdeedoh so much, but I could never get over the awkward transition to Apt. Therapy Family. Plus, that “My partner watches porn” post was just so, so offbrand and awful. Ick.
Ah well, no blog works for everyone. I love Tessa Jean.
My daughter still has the wooden letters spelling out her name hanging up in her room. I’ll probably do away with them when we redo her room in spring. As a nameaholic, I still want her name somewhere in her room. We’ll probably do a monogrammed pillow or wall decal.
I like: Alice Mae, Clementine (one of my choices for my daughter!), Coralie June, Daphne, Elliot, Eloise, Elsa, Gigi, Greta, Harper, Jane, Lucia, Lyla, Lyra, Norah, Ramona, Ruby, Sadie, Tessa, Violet, Asher, Bennett, Felix, Finn, Fletcher, Holden, Leo, Levi, Milo, Preston, Russell, Sawyer & Wesley.
Emmeth is interesting. I kind of want to ponder that one.
so not happy about Elliot being on the girls list. Why, oh, why must the girls steal all of the good boy names. My 2nd son’s name is Eliot.
Some gorgeous names here: love Anais, Beatrix, Clementine, Juniper and Violet for girls, and Ari, Eben, Felix, Iggy and Rowan for boys.
Elsa twice? Noooo!
I have a 6 year old named Norah so I love that one. And I have huge crushes on Daphne and Greta. Beatrix, Jane and Wren are also faves.
I have loved Eli and Milo for a long time but Arlo is a new crush. Also love Felix, Bennett, Max, Leo, Levi, Silas and Oscar.
All three of my kiddos have their name on their walls in wooden letters. Wouldn’t exactly call this a fresh, new trend.
Ah some of these names so gorgeous! I’m literally cushing
I love for girls:
Alice Mae – so poetic and spunky.
Amelie – adore the soft European feel of this name
Anais – really spunky and has a lot of character great French name.
Beatrix – Ah I love Beatrix Potter and the name oozes a wholesome characterstic attitude it’s a great choice.
Carlotta – I have a soft spot for this name.
Clementine – This sounds beautiful and very fresh
Coralie June – How adorable is this combination? Ah so lush!
Eloise – a pretty name that’s getting really popular
Harper – I’m beginning to like this name the more I’m exposed to it also I do love Harper Lee.
Jane – A family name I’ve considered using in the first name slot for future possible daughters.
Juno – not my usual choice but it’s cool.
Matilda – Adorable!
Nola – I’ve always had a soft spot for Nola it’s just so simple yet intriguing
