Girls’ Gone Child Had The TWINS!!!

by You Can't Call It "It"! on September 13, 2011

With my girls.

The mystery is solved.  After months of plotting, scheming, guessing, canoodling, and even attempts at bribing the mother in question, Rebecca Woolf has given birth today to twin girls. (We’ve talked about this before here AND here).

Their names, as previously indicated, begin with R and B.  Rhythm and Blues they are not.

Last chance.  Anyone want to venture a guess?

They are so her.  Perfectly lovely in every way, and word names of French extraction.

Let it be known that the twins’ names are

Reverie Lux, 5lbs 3oz, 18 inches and

Boheme Shalom, 5lbs 12oz, 18.5 inches

They join siblings Archer Sage and Fable Luella.  As per her tweets, one is raven haired and the other is flaxen. Yin and yang.

I feared my hopes for a little Reverie had been dashed when they revealed that Revere Blaze had been on of their picks for a boy (Vox Shepherd was the other).  Reverie was my favorite R!  Yea!  And Boheme?  SO them, so right for this child, and just delightful to say aloud.

Their names are a gift from Bec and Hal, as if to say, “Dare to dream!  Be an individual!  Peace and Light!”

They done good.

OMG! I’m loving Boheme. That’s one I haven’t seen/heard before.

Reverie Lux is gorgeous. I don’t love Shalom with Boheme, but overall, so lovely and SO them.

Dangit! There goes Reverie off my list for this baby. To the land of lost names just like Shiloh after BRangelina used it. Beautiful names, though.

oooh, I hope it won’t soar like Shiloh!

Okay, I love Reverie and am stuck on pronunciation of Boheme. I studied Spanish for years — French has always confounded me. Help?

I’m equally curious about how they’re pronouncing Reverie. Some pronounce with three syllables Rev-er-ree, and some REV-ree. We pronounce our daughter’s REV-ree. Good thing she does Video blogging– It shall all be revealed!

I think Boheme is pronounced Bo-EM (that’s what I found when I Googled), but I could be wrong.

Erin, if they’re pronouncing it the traditional French way (and I imagine they are) if sounds something like BO-em. Silent “h”.

Ah, like from La Boheme! Now I get it, but out of context it wasn’t clicking for me. Thanks, Karma!

I’m in love, naturally. There’s one more little light-filled Reverie out there (we have one, too)! The name will definitely be a gift! And Boheme Shalom is so musical and perfect. I really, really love these.

Great names. Even though I wouldn’t choose them, it makes me happy that someone in the world did, if that makes sense.

My thoughts exactly! The names suit her naming style and her other children’s names perfectly, even if they’re not names I’d consider myself. I think both Reverie and Boheme have a lovely musical quality to them though.

How beautiful! My first guess for R had been Reverie, but I was way off on B. Congrats!

Archer definitely got the most normal name out of the bunch.

Congrats!

And okay… (hides under chair a bit)… I also was really betting on Reverie after she announced that she bought LP’s with the names on them, um because….. I did a quick search for ‘Reverie LP’ and found one with the title ‘In Reverie’. AND it matches her nursery decor to absolute perfection! So I was just super convinced after seeing it.

It’s the image on my post from today, and I can’t wait to see if this is in fact the one she has in the nursery! If she doesn’t have this one already, then she should really, really get it! And now I’m equally curious to see what the Boheme LP will be! Love it. Haven’t been this excited since naming my own babies! ha!

I was certain of Reverie, and certain of Shalom (as a middle name), but both Lux and Boheme are wonderful surprises. Really great names, love them together, and for their family!

Additionally (geeking out here, so please forgive me) I love how Boheme’s middle name starts with S like big brother, Archer’s, and the nickname Bo sounds like the tool that the Archer uses.
Reverie’s middle name starts with L, like sister Fable’s and Reverie and Fable are more similar in definition–they describe things people do/have/create, whereas Archer and Boheme describe something people are. I wonder if that symmetry was intentional? I’m sure we’ll find more and more ways that they flow with the siblings!

I have irrevocably fallen in love with Reverie as a middle name for any future daughter of mine. LOVE! And Boheme nn Bo/Bowie is to die for!

ps: i wonder if Boheme has the “accent grave” on the first e, as the word does in french?

How wonderful! I’ve been hanging out to hear what Bec and Hal chose as names for their two perfect baby girls, and they certainly did not disappoint! Two beautiful babies, two perfect names… So poetic and musical and magical, they’re amazing!

LOVE the names. Absolute beauties! Congrats to the family.

Also, I just saw that another baby was born recently that you posted about…the littlest sibling to the amazing trio “True, Brave, and Soul.” And I bet that no one guessed their final name choice! Heee heee. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, because I’m sure you will post about it. :)

Boheme immediately made me think of Bohemian Rhapsody and La Boheme, both fabulous (but very different, of course!) musical masterpieces. Reverie and Boheme are perfect names for this family, although I still pick Fable as the highlight among them – love love love it :)

long ago i thought of using the word reverie as a girls name and thought is was just sooo different and lyrical and beautiful. it’s crazy to see that several people commenting here have used it and this blogger as well! it’s off my list now that i’m expecting- my husbands lengthy last name begins with an “r” so goodbye reverie, ramona, rosemary and ruby.
