Ah, the artistic crew at Ohdeedoh always uncover some gems. Caedmon, anyone? Dove? How about Wyeth, after Andrew Wyeth? This is his art filled room pictured above.

Love Caedmon! My husband would NEVER agree to it, but such a joy for a History of English/Medieval Lit nerd like me.
I love Dove and Paloma. I recently read a book where two sisters are named Columbine and Paloma – I thought it was a very clever pairing and Dove would be a great third sister for the sibset.

I love Dove. My top boy-combination is Albert Dove, actually. I think Paloma is nice, too. Not something I’d use, but nice nonetheless.
And I really like Elle as a nickname for Eloise/Elodie.
Caedmon has always been a favorite of mine. And Paloma is one I am always admiring.
Elisabeth, what do you think of Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen’s new baby girl’s name? Elula – I have never heard of it before, but it reminds me of your wee cherub Eulalie!
I hadn’t heard, and can’t find anything on the internet about it! Tell me, what are your sources Foxymoron? Elula is pretty, but new to me. I got a couple of 19th century references, and I have to wonder if it’s a take on Eulalia.
I can’t reveal my source unfortunately! But I promise they are reliable. Olive and Elula as a sibset surprised me. I wonder if they will end up calling her Ellie or something like that. Elula seems like a mouthful to me!
I just came across the name Elula in The Complete Book of Baby Names. It is in the “Jewish names” section. No meaning or history given, although a bit of Googling reveals that it may be a name found in the Bible. It does make sense to me that they chose a Jewish name, since Isla converted to Judaism to marry Sacha.
Crazy! So it’s someone who knows them? I think it’s interesting and melodic, but prefer Eulalie.
Elula is an odd name, even as a Hebrew name. I’m Jewish, and I’ve never heard it before. It is not Biblical at all. I would assume it comes from the month of Elul on the Hebrew calendar, which would roughly correspond to the month of August on the secular calendar.
I would also assume that the baby was born in August, since Isla looked about four months in the paparazzi photos taken of her shortly after her wedding in March. I suppose that this is the equivalent of naming a spring baby April–which I think was the name of a character that Isla played in that movie with Ryan Reynolds and Abigail Breslin (who played a little girl named Olive in a different movie.)
