How about Sincere, Patience and Precious? Or not!

Hmmm… the girl’s names are definitely getting trickier… though I like quite a few of the boy’s names – particularly Knox, Matias, Finley, Rudy, Maxim, Valentin, Soren, Eugene, Sage, Matthias, Valentino, Luka, Marley and Augustus.

So I’d go with either:

Finley
Sage
Evie
Cecelia

OR

Augustus
Maxim
Paloma
Giovanna (I don’t love this name, but couldn’t find many others to fit with the subset)

Clark & Augustus, Patience & Celia.

I don’t pick middle names for this game because we use family names as middles, so I would never realistically just pick middles off a list.

Several fine Scottish names rank in the 700s, among them 3 from my family. So improving on my Scottish theme for the 600s:

Duncan Finley
Lewis Knox
Matilda Ellen
Annabel Clare

Scots connections for these names (from “Scottish Forenames” Edinburgh, 2005):
DUNCAN – Two Scottish kings bore the name; the name occured regularly among the noble families of Scotland as a forename and became also a surname.
FINLEY – Alternative spelling of Finlay, a form of the name of MacBeth’s father. The name is not uncommon in early Scottish records and has continued in regular use. Finlay ranked 12th among names given to boys born in Scotland in 2009.
LEWIS – From the French Louis, brought to England by the Normans and soon found its way to Scotland. The name was popular among the Gordon family. In 2009 Lewis ranked #2 in Scotland.
KNOX – not in the Scottish name book, but well-known as the surname of the Scots clergyman John Knox, the founder of Presbyterianism.
MATILDA – The name was introduced to Britain due to William the Conqueror, who married Matilda of Flanders. The name came early to Scotland as David II married Maud or Matilda, Countess of Northampton. The name was long prominent in the blood royal and among titled families. Maud is the contracted form of Matilda.
ELLEN – This form of Helen has been popular in Scotland.
ANNABEL – In Scots records since 1296, among them Annabel Drummond, Queen Consort of Robert III and mother of James I. She is described in Scott’s novel, “The Fair Maid of Perth”.
CLARE – The Italian order of the Sisters of St Clare, or ‘Poor Clares’, founded in the 13th century, made the name popular throughout Europe, including Scotland.

Love these names!

I was very worried when I started this, as one of the first names I came across was the offensively terrible Alexzander. I feared that this would set the tone, and was pleasantly surprised to find some lovely jewels amongst a lot of horrible names!
Once again, the girls didn’t go quite as planned, since their Germanic names don’t really go well with the Latin theme of Maxim and Augustus. But how could I resist sisters called Matilda and Ingrid?

Augustus Cedric Matthias

Again, lots of girl names I like here, but the boys were kind of brutal. Some names I like individually, but it was hard to make a sibset that didn’t look like it was named by a schizophrenic (rejected options include Sincere, Valentin, Soren, Rory, Nikolai, Justus, and Natalya, Lorelei, Ingrid, etc.–they all fit together really nicely as a Puritan/Russian/German/Nordic/Irish sibset, right?).

So…

Clare Matilda
Rosemary Patience
Augustus Clark
Conrad Sage

I can’t choose for this one! Girls would be either two of Paloma, Rosemary, Patience and Matilda. I think I’ll go with :

Patience Paloma Ingrid
Rosemary Selah Matilda.

As for boys, I could barely pick two names that I liked! I think I’d go with Cedric and Valentin, though.

Cedric, Valentin, Patience and Rosemary.

Not the most cohesive set of quadruplets, I must admit.
