Catherine Bell of Army Wives and husband Adam Beason welcomed a son Saturday morning. His name? Ronan Bell. Ronan joins big sister Gemma in their South Carolina home. Handsome set, no?
Ronan is a strong Gaelic name that means “little seal.” I’d consider it myself, actually. What do you think?

Is his full name Ronan Bell Beason, or did he receive his mother’s last name? If so, that’s very progressive, I like
My understanding is that his middle name is Bell. Sorry that was confusing.
A personal fan of the name Ronan… and I think it’s sweet to use mom’s name. Always a fan of that
I really like Ronan and love Gemma & Ronan together.
Love Ronan – thought about naming our son Ronan but a close friend has a son named Rowan and it seemed too close.
Having lived in Ireland for several years, I strongly associate this name with the Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, so I just couldn’t go there…
That’s my immediate association too, having grown up in the UK when they were popular. Being in the US now though, the association isn’t as strong for me. Just gives the name an Irish vibe, which is the name’s origin. And it is cute with the British-vibe Gemma.
Great set. Love it! Congrats to them
Ronan and Gemma are a great sib-set, they did a fantastic job!
Not too common in the U.S. to my understanding yet it will belnd in nicely being two syllables and ending in ‘an.’ A good choice.
A high school friend of mine just had a Ronan this week.
