Ohdeedoh parents sure do have eclectic taste. Names are a lot like design: everyone has their own idea of beauty. There’s the form vs. function debate. Mother’s and father’s ideas blend together to create something neither one might have otherwise considered. Foremost, it’s incredibly personal.
I’m truly inspired by this group. Thrilled to see Athena, Dinah, Eloise, Jacinda, Ottilie, Angus, Bernard, Bruno, Clark, Cormac and Jonty. How sweetly unaffected is Petey? Before you get your feathers ruffled, I imagine that he is a Peter. Ryu is named for musician Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Apologies to everyone who clicked on this an hour ago! Dern thing published too soon by accident.

I love the ohdeedoh name lists – so many to choose from! Great design style and great name style.
Oh, there’s so much here…. I love Caroline, Beatrix/Beatrice, Eleanor, Julia Frances, Paola, Vivian, Tom, Theo, Oliver, Marcos, Gunnar (especially with a Scandinavian last name), Gideon, Colin, Clive, Clark and Antonio. Rather than Audrey Grace, I like Grace on its own, paired with a long last name as in Vogue’s Grace Coddington. As for Elliot, call me a stick in the mud but it’s either a last name or a boy’s name. I think T.S. Eliot or Eliot Ness.
Wow, that’s a long list with so many to love! It’s fun to see a Mila there – we don’t run into too many others with that name.
(Also, I love Enzo.)
I love Kit for a boy’s name. It wouldn’t work with my last name and the hubs feels it’s too informal (and hates Christopher as a formal name) but I adore it.
Such great names! I had never heard of Ohdeedoh before. I’m going to go check it out some more – looks very cool.
Noelle is definitely moving up on my list. What does everyone think – too tied in with Christmas?
I know a Noella – she was born in September, but her parents found out they were expecting right around Christmas time. (Funnily enough they later went on to have a son born on Christmas Day and he doesn’t have a Christmas themed name!)
I also know a Noel – another September baby and his Mom has had to explain to several people that it’s “Noel like Joel – not No-elle like Christmas.”
I personally would slightly prefer Noelle as a Christmas name, but I don’t think it’s a huge deal to have it as an ‘other season’ name.

oh my sweet heavens, that bedroom in the picture… gorg! i need to click over to ohdeedoh and see what i’ve missed lately. love paola. sometimes really regret not giving our girls italian first names to go with our last name. loving paloma, maisie, jacinda and jude. also, and i know you probably won’t agree with me elisabeth, but i think parker olivia is adorable. but pacifique? what’s the backstory on that one? is that a typical french name or completely made up? my one super cringe at this list is kohen scout. not only is it cohen – and i feel bad for any kid named cohen by clueless parents – but it also has the dreaded ‘k’ instead of a ‘c’. love scout though.
sorry for the lack of uppercase letters, typing one handed w/ a babeh on my lap.
Isn’t it GORGE? http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/inspiration/another-nod-to-grey-119696

okay, elisabeth. help me out. i need to see the details on the room in that picture but can’t find the post on decor8. do you have the link? or remember when she posted it? sorry for the non-name related question!
Thank you!!!

What about a list from the Rate My Space nursery page? I see some doozies on there from time to time…

Selim is a Turkish name, meaning ”benign, honest, perfect”
Love it! Thank you xyz.
Love the site! I do believe that’s my Petey, and yes he’s officially Peter Coolidge. Named for our grandfathers.
I love…

I’m surprised at how many names there are off of our list!
Angus? Egads, no! But I love Lex and Jonty!
That’s my Ottilie — designing her bedroom was MUCH less fun than naming her
