As promised, part II of IV from early 2010 Le Figaro birth announcements in France.
These lists overall are quite different from the country at large, intentionally so. French schools are not exactly teeming with Télémaques and Théotimes. Use with caution: not for amateurs.

Of the M-Z list, I love Malo, Mathis, Maxime, Octave, Raphaël, Romain, Théodore and Thibaut. Can’t wait to see the girls list!
Malo is the name of a famous Breton saint. I think in Brittany its a fairly common male name. The feminine form of Maelle has gotten trendy in France. There is also Mael, which is masculine.
These are awesome!
Marin
Mathis
Maxime
Maximilian
Melchior
Mickaël-this is the Breton form of Michael
Octave
Philippe-classic
Pierre-a classic
Stanislas

Thibau-fairly common in the Francophone, either as Thibault or Thibaud
Thorlak
Vadim
Victor
I’m digging Vadim. It really stood out from the list to me. Very interesting.
Vadim is Slavic, Meg. I’m uncovering various possible meanings, most of which revolve around a “glorious powerful ruler.” Sebastiane or anyone else care to confirm?
