No, they are not a family of eleven. Quite.
Meet the Novogratzes: Bob, Cortney, Wolfgang (12), Bellamy and Tallulah (twins, 11), Breaker (9), Five and Holleder (twins, 4), and baby Major (1).
Yes, Five is the fifth child’s name.
Self-described risk takers, this family is slated as Bravo TV’s newest reality show, 9 By Design. They are self-taught decorators and master flippers, with an eclectic visual sensibility that mirrors their taste in names. That said, I might have expected more antiques among the mix. Wolfgang fills the international quotient, Major is almost puritanical in inspiration. Tallulah is a kind of funky modern name that harkens back to the roaring 20s, while Breaker, Bellamy, and Holleder may be family surnames, I wonder? Five solidifies their “risk taker” status.
I’d love to know how they chose them! Care to tell us, Cortney?
What say you, oh community of discerning name nerds? It might be easy to sling daggers– these people are models who live in the West Village, are richer than God, and have a family of nine that includes two sets of twins. So they can pretty much do whatever they want and pull it off. And do.

Oh, I remember them! They were featured in one of the first issues of Cookie, I think, in this amazing house with a basketball court on the roof. It would’ve been pre-baby Major, but who can forget a family with a kid named Five?
Can’t wait to see the show!
Hmm… I haven’t heard of them at all but now I’m really interested in seeing their show.
I’m not a fan of 90% of their names but I do love Tallulah.
I saw them on OhDeeDoh the other day, and of course the first thing I did was figure out what their kids names were! I must say I was a little disappointed. Wolfgang, Tallulah and Bellamy are great… I don’t really like any of the rest. Five is the worst, why not Quentin?
Love their style though, I’ll be tuning in.
I will not hate on these people but there is really no excuse to name a child Five. Seriously. I agree with the poster about Quentin or Quinn.
Bellamy and Talullah do have some appeal though.
I love people who are brave namers, but Five, Breaker and Major seem lacking in style/flair/imagination. The others fit the bill perfectly, even if not to my taste personally.
Five would make a cute nickname for Fievel.
Whoa. Had to click through from my reader on this one. Five? Seriously? Well, whatevs. It’s their kid. Do love talullah and bellamy. I know someone with a Jr. that is nicknamed Quint because he is the fifth in the family with the name.
Hope all is well Elisabeth!

aww, i kind of like Five. it reminds me of Fiver, from Watership Down.
