Here in Germany Hagen is a boy's name or a surname, and for me it has absolutely no female connotations. I'm surprised to see it here on the girl's list.

Thought I'd share a few names I've noted from the many baby photos on the wall at our very expensive, hip local baby store:

Lulu Plum

Winter Bell

Evelyn Glory

I love all 3! The boys names are not nearly as interesting. Seems to often be the way with boys names, doesn't it?

I'm excited to find out what you end up naming baby #2!

I can see Stanley being used more in hipster circles--but not the general public. It totally has a cool edginess to it.

For girls names, Gwnedd and Hagen I strongly dislike. I can't think of any names with Gw that I like--I don't find the sound pleasant.

On the other hand, I adore Zadie!, Yasmine, Tilda, Neha, and Irene. I like the combo Lila Mildred, and sibset Esther and Jonah. I don't hate Corduroy, but wonder the story behind the name.

Back to the boys, I think Dash and Wolfie would be cute nicknames--but don't love as full names. Pascal the rascal is cute. Like the sibset of Linus, Oliver, and Miles. The shear number of little Oliver's softens my pang of not being able to consider it for myself.

Stanley? Not sure how I feel about that. If I can stop thinking about my Uncle Stan for a minute I might be able to like it, but really it just brings to mind pot-bellied, long haired, middle aged dudes.

Ooh, I like names like Stanley (and Howard for that matter.)

But WTF about Corduroy, besides the ugly masculine sound, its a fabric! What's next Twill?

Fashionable friends of mine named their kiddo Oliver Stanley a few years back - I wonder if Stanley is on the upswing!? Stan is kind of cool - if you can forget all the negative associations.

Thinking of you!
